Deputy Hit By Driver On Cell Phone

A Bexar County deputy is recovering from injuries sustained after he was hit by a young driver who was apparently on his cell phone when he hit the veteran officer.

The deputy, George Little, was directing traffic around an accident on I-35 on Monday when he was hit. Little was placing cones to re-direct traffic when he was struck.

The officer was taken to the hospital to be treated for bruised ribs and a broken hip.

At this point, no charges have been filed against the young woman who hit the officer
