Truck Driver Killed After Hitting Tanker

An accident in South Texas claimed the life of a truck driver after she crashed her truck into a propane tanker. The truck burst into flames and the woman was killed instantly.

A spokesman from the Department of Public Safety identified the victim as Martha Villarreal.

Villareal was headed west in Hidalgo County just outside of Mission when the accident occurred. The tanker was headed north when she collided with it.

Authorities are still investigating the accident.

The driver of the propane tanker truck did not suffer any serious injuries.

Police closed the road for a large portion of the day while they cleaned up the site.
