Pedestrian Struck And Killed

According to a spokesman from the Department of Public safety, a man was walking along County Road 40 on Friday when he was hit and killed by a car.

The victim has not been identified yet.

The man was walking along a dark part of the road and was reportedly wearing dark clothing when a 2002 Saturn struck him. The driver of the Saturn has been identified as Ricardo Cantu of Robstown.

Police said that Cantu was not able to avoid hitting the man in time when he saw him walking.

Workers from the Nueces County Medical Examiner's office are trying to determine the identity of the victim in order to contact his family
